San Felasco Mountain Bike Trails

Wow, wow, wow....these are great trails. We rode for hours on beautifully maintained singletrack. Who knew there were hills here in Florida? There were challenging climbs, fun downhills, and lots of fun curves. There were some roots and a couple log-overs, but most of the ride was just go-go-go.

The scenery was fantastic. We saw 20 or more deer, grassy meadows, pine woods, oak hammocks, and more. In some places, it looked like hogs had torn the ground up, but either they have left the trail alone, or the trail crews have repaired it perfectly.

There are maps at the trailhead, but it appears the trail-builders have bolted ahead of the map-makers. We found loops called Odd Buck and "8" that were not on the maps. Odd Buck was really fun. On second thought, after comparing today's GPS track with the map on the state park's website, I think trails signed as "8", Odd Buck, and some other names are all part of the trail that is labeled as Ravine Loops on the map.

Every year there is an event called The Tour de Felasco, which is a 50 mile ride on not only San Felasco's mountain bike trails, but on equestrain and hiking trails that are opened to cyclists on this day only. The ride was very well marked and well supported.
